Year 12 CAS trip to Siem Reap and request for donations

Creativity, activity, and service (CAS) is one of the three essential core elements every student completes as part of the IB Diploma Programme. During the week of May 11th, our Year 12 students will travel to Siem Reap for their CAS trip. The trip is designed to help students strengthen their CAS portfolios and an opportunity for the cohort to bond as a group. As an essential part of this trip our students will return to Elma English School for their service component. We first helped this school to build up an English language library as part of last year’s CAS trip. This year, students will help to renovate a room so it can be used as a computer lab. The school is located in a rural area and the existing structures are badly in need of refurbishment, including new shelves and of course IT equipment to fill it!
Please consider making a donation to support our students’ service; all donations will go directly towards the project to benefit Elma English School. Specifically, we are looking for:
- Used laptops in good working condition to fill the computer lab we will set up
- Primary-level English language books to fill the English language library we completed as part of last year’s CAS trip
- Monetary donations that will be used to pay for project and school supplies, with any extra given to the school to supplement equipment we are bringing ourselves
Any and all donations are greatly appreciated and will go towards a good cause; even small amounts will go much further in Cambodia than they do here in Hong Kong. Donations must be received by the morning of Thursday, May 8th in order for them to be brought with us on the trip the following week. Please send them to the BPR school office, clearly labeled “Year 12 CAS Trip.”
