Our new mural at TKO: A work inspired by Tim March’s visit, for the enjoyment of both young and old!

14 April 2025

HKFIS had the privilege of welcoming the famous street artist Tim Marsh, known for his work with patterns and geometric shapes.

Over three days, the artist guided fifteen second-year art students at TKO in creating a gigantic mural. Together, they explored various graffiti techniques under the artist's supervision, fostering a dynamic and friendly learning environment.

The mural depicts Hong Kong, featuring a giant snake weaving between skyscrapers, symbolizing the Year of the Snake but not only that! This often-misunderstood animal nonetheless finds its place in the surrounding jungle of this metropolis. The students successfully conveyed a powerful message: the need to preserve the wildlife and flora of our world.

This mural is not just an embellishment of its white walls, but a poignant reminder that without animals, there is no life left for us, humans.

Through this artwork, the students highlight the importance of biodiversity, inviting everyone to reflect on our relationship with nature. This project underscores the power of art as a tool for raising awareness and inspiring action.

When our kindergarten students become graffiti artists for a day!

The young students of TKO in Grande Section (kindergarten) also had the chance to meet Tim Marsh and were able to discover spray painting, the use of stencils and tape, as well as the transfer technique by projection—just like real graffiti artists! The students personalized their tangrams to create a large mural. A way for them to participate, in their own style, in the grand HK Walls festival.

Thank you to the artist for his expertise and to the students for their wonderful involvement, which made this project a memorable success.
