From FIS to 400K followers: The Megan Jacques Story

9 September 2025

Megan Jacques (Class of 2016) is a French and Hong Kong content creator, born and raised in the bustling streets of Hong Kong. With her unique perspective as French and Hongkongese, Megan has built a community of 400K. In our latest interview, she reveals how FIS’s diverse, dual-cultural environment was the perfect training ground for understanding and captivating a global audience.

Megan immediately pointed to the school's unique international environment as a key influence. “At FIS I felt really fortunate to be immersed in such a diverse linguistic environment,” she shared. This daily exposure to multiple cultures and languages provided her with the innate ability to connect with a worldwide audience, a skill that now defines her work.

When asked how her education prepared her for a creative career, she highlighted the profound impact of the IB curriculum. “Through the IB curriculum, FIS significantly boosted my confidence, creativity, encouraging critical thinking and innovative approaches to problem solving,” Megan explained. “I really loved how the program's approach was more on the holistic learning […] it really helped to think outside the box.”

Perhaps most powerfully, Megan spoke about her journey of self-discovery at FIS. The school’s environment allowed her to explore and embrace every part of her identity. “By the end of my journey at FIS, I realised that I can't just be defined by my nationalities. I go beyond my cultural background. I learnt that my identity is multifaceted and that I am more than half Chinese and half French.”

This realisation—that she is a unique individual beyond labels—gave her the courage to express her authentic self to the world.

We invite you to listen to the full interview to discover more about Megan’s creative process, the challenges she’s overcome, and her advice for current students.

Megan’s story is a beautiful testament to how FIS education empowers students to become confident, creative, and globally-minded individuals. We are so proud of her journey and cannot wait to see what she does next!
