Roses of Hope : When Students Turn Love into Tomorrow’s Opportunities

9 October 2025

Last year, on February 14, 2025, FIS's Grade 11 Mandarin LVB students, under the guidance of Madame Chen, organized a beautiful charitable initiative: a rose sale.

Positioned at the two school entrances at drop-off and during recess, our sale was nothing short of a triumph. The rest of the day was animated by frequent appearances from the students (all dressed in red), who delivered roses and even recited poems. Thanks to your engagement and generosity, we sold every single one of the 300 roses we had purchased!

This was more than just an opportunity to celebrate Valentine's Day with loved ones; these flowers of love were sold for a charitable cause.

A Charitable Impact

The funds raised were donated to the association Couleurs de Chine, which works to support education for young girls from ethnic minorities. Thanks to this sale, we were able to fund the education of two young girls, 宋海艳 and 贾好运, offering them a chance for a brighter future.

Following the event, we received two touching letters from our sponsored students, along with a photo that bears witness to their journey. These items are a powerful illustration of the real-world impact of our actions. We thank you for your contribution!

The Tradition Continues in 2026

Following the success of 2025, we are thrilled to announce that we will be holding another rose sale in February 2026! This is a wonderful opportunity to renew our commitment and continue supporting education.

We invite our entire community to participate and help us make this another resounding success. Together, let's strengthen our engagement and support a cause that we hold dear!

P.S. The Bake Sales run by Madame Chen's in 2024 also supported Couleurs de Chine. Your cumulative commitment has offered a new future to two young girls!
