Wait! the musical, FIS in the spotlight

Wait! the musical… The original french production, that will be staged early December, will showcase eleven talented FIS students. Representing our school with participants from various year groups and inter streams. They have been rehearsing every week at our TKO campus and getting ready to put on a French spectacle that cannot be missed.

A story of redemption and taking control of one’s destiny
In a story of redemption and claiming agency over past mistakes, discover our very own secondary students as they sing, dance, and act in the N.A.B Music performance. A musical filled with harmonies, described by singer Charline Ambrogi as “magical”; perfected choreography that “flows to the music”, according to dancer Elena Rodriguez; and a range of music genres that will confront the audience to acoustic, operatic, and lively songs.
An adventure that helps them grow
Wait! is allowing these students to grow their skills in stress relief, confidence development, and time management. With performers like singer Alice Saulnier "overcoming stage fright” and “learning to balance schoolwork with passions” like dancer Victoire Lafon. Evolving within a group that “is a community there to help and support us” as stated by Emilie Foster.
Their favorite moments to share on stage
When asked what they were most excited to show on stage, Victoire is enthusiastic to demonstrate her skills in contemporary dance and ballet on songs like Laissez Moi Danser and Mourrir sur Scene. Whilst Zoïa Ostrowski cannot wait to perform Lacrymosa as an operatic ensemble and shine in her solos in comedic melodies like Itsi Bitsi Bikini.
Why come see WAIT! ?
Miya Dhelin is proud to say that the musical “promotes french culture with renowned french songs being covered and some clever references to french history and current actualities”. When confronted with the language barrier, Miya reassured that the theatre will display english and chinese subtitles for non native speakers to follow along. “It’s quite a cool learning experience, amiss a few jokes that may pass over your head, it’s going to be a really interesting experience. Learning a language through music is a really encouraging way to learn.”

But beyond being a learning experience for the audience, Laetitia Gourmelen is glad to have had the opportunity to “collaborate with people at school who [she] wouldn't have met before”. Taking out of this experience new friends and memories. An idea reinforced by actress Felicie Doumenc who has repeatedly mentioned that for her, the musical is like a “home away from home” where she can “let loose on stage and have fun”.
So don’t miss out! Purchase your tickets now to come see the N.A.B Music original production of Wait! And discover our FIS talents from December 4th-6th.
