Vigilance Against Chikungunya Fever
The Centre for Health Protection (CHP) requests that we draw your attention to the recent Chikungunya Fever (CF) situation in neighboring regions, including Guangdong Province. CF is a mosquito‑borne disease that can cause fever, joint pain, muscle pain, headache, fatigue and rash.
To protect our students and families, please take the following precautions:
- Wear light‑coloured long‑sleeved clothing when outdoors
- Apply insect repellent containing DEET on exposed skin and clothing
- Remove stagnant water at home to prevent mosquito breeding (e.g. from buckets, flowerpot saucers, and air‑conditioner trays)
- If your child has fever or feels unwell after travelling, seek medical advice promptly and inform the doctor of your travel history.
Thank you for your cooperation in helping to keep our school community safe and healthy.
