Inégalopolis: An Educational Game Against Inequality, Designed by Our Students

12 January 2026

This year, as part of their Civic and Moral Education class, our 5ème students have created an educational game focused on combating inequality and discrimination.

The game, titled Inégalopolis: Hong Kong, challenges players to take on the roles of individuals facing discrimination, playing a Monopoly-style game while confronting scenarios of injustice and prejudice inspired by real life.

The creation of this game, which also serves as a teaching resource for the entire school, engaged the students for three weeks. They conducted research to understand what discrimination is, who it affects, why and how it manifests, and the consequences it brings. They also reflected on ways to fight discrimination and designed game cards to promote these solutions.

The goal of the game is to raise awareness among as many people as possible about discrimination and how to confront it as engaged citizens. The playful and educational dimensions come together to create a unique resource for all students in the school.

Throughout the project, the students showed remarkable dedication: in their research in the library, during classroom debates, and, of course, during gameplay sessions. These moments sparked many reactions, proving that their creation fully achieves its mission.

Next step: having students from other classes play the game!
