Asian Climbing Cup: A group and ambitions on the rise

3 February 2026

From December 6th to 10th, Ho Chi Minh City hosted PROZAP Escalade, also known as the Asian Climbing Cup, which brought together 136 climbers from across the region.

Four teams from Hong Kong took part: two from middle school and two from high school.

For some, this event was a first-time experience, while many students—already dedicated to climbing—were delighted to return to a competition they had participated in before.

These five days were packed with both sporting and cultural discoveries: two impressive climbing gyms, some with walls reaching up to 16 meters, shared evening meals that fostered team spirit, and an afternoon of traditional games in the Ho Chi Minh City area.

Our teams set out with clear but varied ambitions: for the newcomers, to rank as high as possible and enjoy the experience; for the more seasoned climbers, to showcase their training progress and compete closely with the top teams.

The final rankings fully reflected these goals, with our high school teams finishing in 6th and 8th place—just a few points behind the last qualifier for the finals.

In the middle school division, our climbers delivered strong results in a highly competitive field, securing an impressive 12th place and a promising 22nd place for a younger squad.

I believe everyone will carry forward the experience they gained, the great moments shared together, and the pride of having given their very best.

Congratulations to our middle schoolers Allexia C., Clémentine D., Malo F., Minami F., Jules G., Nolan J., Edgar L., and Tesnim T. and to our high school students Maxime B., Anae Q., Ethan M., Louis M., and Jules P. !
