A Glimpse of the Past, A Look to the Future: Alumni Return to JL Campus after 30 years
“Just like old times!” That was the delighted reaction of alumni Philippa and Alexandra Thomson (Class of 1995) during a recent visit to our JL campus.
Their visit carried special meaning—not only as a walk down memory lane, but as a preview of what's to come. During their time with us, the sisters learned that JL campus will once again welcome secondary students starting September 2026—a full-circle moment that connected the school's rich history with its exciting future.
For Philippa and Alexandra, stepping back onto campus was a beautiful nod to the past. After all, JL was originally a secondary campus before becoming the vibrant primary section it is today. Seeing it return to its roots—now with enhanced and dedicated learning spaces—was particularly meaningful. The same community spirit that made their school years so memorable will continue to shape the experience of future generations of secondary students.
An invitation to our wider alumni community
Stories like Philippa and Alexandra's remind us of the power of returning to where it all began. If you're an alumn or alumna and find yourself back in Hong Kong, we'd love to welcome you for a visit—whether to wander the halls of JL or BPR, reconnect with old friends, and see how your old school has evolved. There's something special about walking through the gates again, and we'd be honoured to share that moment with you.
Moments like these remind us why we love welcoming alumni back. You honour where we started—while showing us just how far we've come.
