Throughout various graphic exercises, Year 11 and 12 students learned about moving beyond line-outline practices to impose greater control over gesture and continue the rhythm. It was a matter of regaining an appreciation for delimited and closed forms, defining the undefined, and making deliberate choices.

They approached drawing using only short, straight lines while exploring how to create curves. Ultimately, they challenged themselves to draw a very realistic self-portrait, understanding that a drawing as similar as possible to reality synthesizes all the previous exercises.
