The Sustainable Development International Film Festival is opening its 4th edition. It continues to grow, thanks to the active participation of the French Schools in Hanoi, Phnom Penh, Shanghai, and Tokyo, which will host events on their campuses in the various categories of the Festival. The AEFE network fully supports the ambition of “think globally, act locally,” aiming for a significant impact on our students and communities: learning to engage concretely with global issues, analyzing local situations, meeting change-makers, conducting collective projects, and raising awareness by harnessing the creative power of films.

The mobilization of the Asia-Pacific Zone is remarkable. With the support of AEFE and the General Consulate of France in Hong Kong, along with all our partners including French May and the Alliance Française, our Festival offers a panorama of over 80 films produced by students from 20 institutions! We also welcome local productions from other international schools in Hong Kong, notably from the ESF network, as well as contributions from further afield, such as the French Lycée of Santo Domingo, which won a prize last year and is renewing its participation!

In the face of the multiple crises of today's world, our young filmmakers express themselves and offer a unique perspective. The Peace category has received the most contributions this year, undoubtedly reflecting strong concerns related to international news. The Planet category is also noteworthy; it is gratifying that environmental issues are not forgotten. Finally, many films also highlight economic and social concerns, often with great creativity.
