An opening season match with plenty of opportunities but no conversion for the boys …

The football season is officially underway, and our newly promoted Boys A Grade team has jumped right into the action with an electrifying match against KGV in the HKSSF Division 1 championship!

Under the scorching sun, our boys were instructed to conserve their energy for fast counterattacks. The first half was a whirlwind of near misses, as we created numerous opportunities but just couldn’t find that finishing touch.

As the second half unfolded, our team took control, showcasing skill and determination. Just when victory seemed within reach, disaster struck: a late penalty for KGV found the top corner of the net, leaving our goalkeeper with no chance.

… But our young football players weren't done yet!

But our boys weren’t done yet! In a final surge, a stunning shot from 40 yards nearly shattered the crossbar, and our quick-thinking winger pounced to head home a well-deserved equaliser. What a thrilling finish!

Although it was a tough start to Division 1, the excitement doesn’t stop here! Next up, we’re gearing up to face Ying Wa College. Let’s rally behind our team and show our support as they aim for victory! Go, FIS!

An exciting girls' preseason tournament at Morse Park!

This past Tuesday, our girls' football team took to the field for a thrilling preseason tournament at Morse Park! The competition featured a mix of school teams and the formidable club team, Citizen, known for their strength and skill.

From the very first whistle, our girls showcased incredible teamwork and determination, dominating possession in their opening games. Despite creating numerous scoring opportunities, they faced tough competition from rival goalkeepers who were on their game.

Congratulations on their commendable score despite a reduced team

With a depleted squad and tired legs, the final match against Citizen became an epic showdown. In a nail-biting contest, our girls fought valiantly, ultimately securing a commendable 1-1 draw. This was an impressive result against a team that trains multiple times a week with a larger squad!

As we gear up for the HKSSF campaign starting on Sunday, 13 October, let’s rally behind our talented team. Good luck, girls! We can't wait to see you shine on the field!
