SPORTS AWARDS 2025 : Congrats to all our FIS athletes!

This year, over 500 secondary French International School students had the opportunity to discover, practice, improve, or excel in the sport of their choice among 17 extracurricular sports activities offered. Within this selection of sports, students could even take part in some unique disciplines such as netball, squash, fencing, and korfball.
More than 110 athletes were nominated across these sports. Among the awards were those for best player (male and female), swimmer, athlete, and gymnast, as well as the most dedicated athletes who showed the greatest progress in their respective activity.

Nearly 250 people, including students, parents, coaches, and school leadership, attended the ceremony hosted by the ever-charismatic Yann Lassus, head of the PE department.
During the event, all coaches had the opportunity to present trophies to their nominated students and pose with them for a commemorative photo.
Created in 1997, the Sports Awards ceremony also honors the overall best male and female athlete of the year among all students participating in extracurricular sports activities.
Given the outstanding achievements of our top athletes, we decided to introduce separate awards: a Junior Trophy (for Middle School) and a Senior Trophy (for High School). During the ceremony, our Principal of Secondary, Mrs. Coupat, awarded the following students:
- Junior category : Arthur Chavanis (boys) and Julie Zhu (girls)
- Senior category : Adrian Rodriguez (boys) and Melanie Sin (girls)

The evening then continued in a friendly atmosphere around a barbecue, where fries and sausages were such a hit they nearly stole the spotlight from Yann Lassus, the master of ceremonies.
Given this year’s results in various local and international competitions, we can confidently say that sports at FIS are thriving.
So well done to all the award winners, as well as to all the other participants in the sports activities who contributed to the success of our teams this year.
