Semaine CAS 2025 – Calligraphie consciente
Dans un studio calme niché à seulement quelques pas de l’agitation frénétique du centre de Hong Kong, un groupe de calligraphes appliqués a trouvé son état de flow. Sur une période de cinq jours, les élèves de calligraphie se sont concentrés sur une compétence différente chaque jour, créant à la fin de chaque journée une œuvre mettant en valeur la technique étudiée.
Ils ont commencé par les majuscules et ont terminé par l’utilisation d’aquarelles pour illustrer leurs créations. Tout au long de cette semaine, les étudiants se sont plongés dans l’apprentissage du rythme et du mouvement fluides de la calligraphie, afin de produire des œuvres artistiques belles et réfléchies, tout en commençant à développer leur propre style.
Dans un monde occupé et ultra rapide, cette expérience a offert un rare moment de détachement par rapport aux écrans et aux distractions, permettant à chacun de se concentrer pleinement sur l’instant présent.
Les retours d’expérience des élèves ont été conservés dans la langue d’origine dans laquelle ils ont été exprimés - en anglais.
Grace: On the fourth day, we did more of connecting uppercase letters to lowercase. Then we were choosing a quote to write on a card. I chose a quote about Happiness. The “H” in calligraphy is soo hard to write!
Hayley: I was hoping to accomplish being able to write most of the capital letters correctly. I achieved my goal and it was easier than I thought it would be.
Carlus: On the first day of CAS, we learned dip pen calligraphy, writing capital letters using a metal brush. The building was a bit old but the studio is nice and comfy. We opened the wooden box and we found the ink bottle, basically the calligraphy kit. It was my first time doing calligraphy so it's a great experience for the first time.
Kylie: We started with writing on copy sheets. Although I don't really have a good memory, we luckily had the sample to copy from. I think it is nice to have time to focus on something because it can also help me focus on other things.
Leila: I found it difficult to not apply pressure using my thumb and making sure I slowed down when writing. Over time I did fix my mistakes by practising lots and in the end I was able to make a pretty monogram tag with my initials on it. I think I was quite successful with completing my goal. Overall today was a great day and I had lots of fun and I learnt lots of new things.
Queenie: I made a card with a cover of 3 roses. I also made a bookmark with different types of flowers and also a bookmark with circles). I realised that painting flowers using two colors is so pretty.
