Camps, Eco-Ambassadors & PIM for our students from Primary
Living together and learning collective effort - CE2 camps
By the end of November, all of our CE2 students from the Jardine’s and TKO campuses will have experienced a memorable time during their 3-day camp in Sai Kung.
Through activities such as kayaking, giant paddle boarding, and dragon boating, they will have been able to develop skills that serve collective effort and promote autonomy. These shared moments will undoubtedly have forged valuable bonds of cohesion among them, fostering a climate of kindness among the children.
On the academic front, these camps provide fantastic opportunities to learn and reinforce language skills and raise awareness about sustainability through the exploration of Hong Kong's natural sites.
Raising awareness and developing responsibility - Food waste audit
For an entire week, an audit on food waste was implemented across all campuses supported by Metanoia and the sustainable development committee led by Martial Jaume. Our representatives are tasked with raising awareness and explaining the purpose of the operation to their peers. They also held sessions after meals to assist their peers in sorting their waste to optimize weighing and data collection.
Developing a passion - Introduction of PIM "Pôle Informatique et Mathématique" (Computer Science and Mathematics Division) for our students in Cycle 3
As part of the school council and the implementation of projects for Cycle 3 (CM1, CM2, and 6ème), this year we are offering our CM1 and CM2 students who are passionate about mathematics the opportunity to spend one morning per month at the middle school for a workshop led by a secondary mathematics teacher.
Here's how this workshop is organized:
Secondary school teachers publish a list of mathematical problems addressed to all students in CM1, CM2, 6ème, and 5ème. Interested students work on solving these problems for a month in class and/or independently. During the morning session at the secondary school, students from different levels come together for a 3-hour work session to collaboratively write their answers.
