World Mental Health Day celebrated on October 10th
October 10th is World Mental Health Day. This day was created in 1992 by the World Federation for Mental Health (WFMH) to raise awareness about the importance of mental health and to encourage open discussions on this vital subject. The day is supported by the World Health Organization (WHO), which promotes global efforts to improve mental well-being.
Mental health, just like physical health, plays a key role in our overall well-being. It affects our ability to manage stress, maintain positive relationships, and face daily challenges.
This day is an opportunity to remind you how important it is to take care of yourself: listen to your emotions, rest, share your feelings, and adopt habits that support your balance, such as engaging in physical activity, getting enough sleep, or talking with loved ones.
As part of our school's commitment to this, we encourage any student, parent, or staff member with a concern to connect with our support team. Our School Psychologists, Counsellors, Health Assistants, and Designated Safeguarding Leaders are here to provide a confidential and supportive space.
